James Davis Where did you attend school, or, if you are currently in school, where do you go? Describe any accomplishments in school or participation in activities. I attended Wheeler High of North Stonington Connecticut, and graduated in 2006 Besides your karate training, what are your other hobbies and interest? My hobbies/interests are snowboarding, video production, and a whole lot of other stuff :-) What motivated you to start taking karate? My Mother signed me up when I was younger becuase i had bad self-control, respect, self-esteem, and I used to get beat up at school. What have you accomplished through your karate training and how has your training helped you outside of the karate school? Karate pretty much changed my life. I've not only made a lot of acomplishments here, but karate taught me all my life skills. I have Kyoshi and Sensei Mike to thank for all of my success. Without them I might have dropped out of school or worse. Why have you chosen to become an instructor? Karate has done a lot for me, and to be able to give back to my students what my instructors gave to me is very special. Seeing my students grow and improve is extremely rewarding and I wouldn't rather have any job. What are your plans for your Martial Arts future? I plan to continue teaching and training for the rest of my life. It has been a goal of mine to one day teach karate as a full-time job, so I will persue that dream, and maybe even own my own school one day. |
