Where did you attend school, or, if you are currently in school, where do you go? Describe any accomplishments in school or participation in activities. I attended and graduated from the University of West Florida with a Bachelor's Degree in Criminal Justice with a minor in Pre-law. I also have an Associate's Degree in Business Management from Pensacola Junior College. I have worked since the age of 20 as a Private and Corporate Investigator. In High School I played basketball, softball and recreational tennis. I was also a student Art teacher and was in the Art Honor Society for 3 years. Besides your karate training, what are your other hobbies and interest? I thoroughly enjoy watching U.F.C. fighting, playing just about any sport (especially raquetball), and spending time at the beach with my husband and kids. I also enjoy painting when I have the time. What motivated you to start taking karate? I have always wanted to learn some form of Martial Arts. I remember bugging my parents alot as a child to let me take classes. But, they were never receptive to my requests. My son decided at age 6 that he would like to try Karate, and that rekindled my interest. I guess you can say that Martial Arts have been my life-long passion! What have you accomplished through your karate training and how has your training helped you outside of the karate school? I have accomplished several things through my training here at NEKK. Most importantly I have become more confident and have a better self-image. I have also developed more patience and better understanding of others. Being involved in the Martial Arts has truly helped me to grow spiritually, mentally and physically. I cannot say enough good things about it. Why have you chosen to become an instructor? I enjoy interacting with the students and believe that it helps me grow and become a better Martial Artist. What are your plans for your Martial Arts future? I plan to be in Martial Arts for the rest of my life. It is my dream to one day run my own school, and to hopefully have a positive affect on as many people's lives as possible. |
